December 6, 2019 was the first solo release after the Khione & Jakean project era. “Close Your Eyes” has elements from Techno and Warehouse Techno which influenced the creation of the track.
"Thinking back to the release of this single, I can remember feeling nervous as this was the first public release as a solo artist. Although I feel like since then I've evolved in many different ways, this track is still important to the history of the Jakean solo project. Fast forward to today, I include a live edit of “Close Your Eyes” in my live shows as a sort of call back to this early era." - Jakean
